Inez May Wilcox, my 2nd great aunt, was born in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut on April 30th 1896 to Minnie Julia Tower age 23 and Alfred Augustus Wilcox age 24. Her sister Irene Dorothy was born 3 years later in October 1899. Her brother Leslie Augustus was born when Inez was 9 years old in 1905 in Connecticut. Her brother Horace George was born in 1908 in Hartford, Connecticut.
On the fourth of July in the summer of 1911 New England had one of the deadliest heat waves recorded. The heat wave was for 11 days and over 2,000 people died from the conditions. In New York alone 600 horses died.
In 1917 America enters world war one when Inez was 21.
Inez married Burton Adams Harris and gave birth to Robert Harris in 1921 and was their only child. She died in 1983 on November 9th 1983 in Wethersfield, Connecticut when she was 87 years old.
