American Sign Langauge
I am interested in ASL beucase I think it is a unique langauge that more people should know and have acsess to learn. I have a mentor/teacher who is teaching me and four other students in my school. We have been learning from a text book called Signing Naturally given to us by the school. What has really been helping me the most has been the videos on youtube that Laura my teacher has refered to us to watch. I have also been practing my fingerspelling on a website where you try to read someone who is spelling a word in ASL.
I read the book "When the Phone Rings, My Bed Shakes" by Philip Zazove. This was assigned to be by my ASL teacher. I thought this was a very inspiring book not just for a deaf person, but for anyone pursuing a goal. He talks about his struggles with being deaf and going through medical school. Once I finished the book I made a slideshow.
